This series is motivated by what has always existed, what we knew existed, but could not see. Questions, both literal and figurative, are raised regarding vision, which is an integral part of experience itself. Colors within these photographs are natural phenomena made visible by diffraction grading, evoking both science and myth.White, simple and empty, is complex and complete depending on how we choose to look.
Natural daylight passes through windows into enclosed spaces, is projected unto white surfaces and is finally captured in photographs. This process mimics the act of looking, as well as experience itself.
These white spaces, sterile and rigid, encapsulate and support the organic forms of light, which in turn transforms the spaces that it inhabits. Anonymous traces of architecture serve as a reminder of reality and suggest institutions in which we live.
